FERRIDAY — Ferriday Police Chief Richard Madison officially resigned as chief of police Monday effective Tuesday.
Ferriday mayor Gene Allen said he received Madison’s letter of resignation Monday, and that he would accept it.
The reason for the resignation is unknown at this time.
Assistant Chief Margaret Lawrence will serve as the chief for the next two weeks, Allen said.
Madison had 14 days left in office before the as yet unknown new chief of police appointed by mayor-elect Glen McGlothin took office.
