CLINTON — Memorial services for Dwight C. Tidwell, 57, of Clinton, who died Monday, June 16, 2008, at his residence, will be at 6 p.m. today at Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel on Clinton Boulevard.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Dwight was a resident of Clinton for more than 30 years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching boys soccer for 14 years in Clinton. He was successful in leading the Clinton Boys Soccer team to several state championships.
He had a passion for music and was a fine musician and an accomplished songwriter.
He was an employee of the State of Mississippi for over 25 years where he had the position of director of information technology.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford S. Tidwell; and his loving dog, Zico.
Survivors include his mother, Lois Brister Tidwell of Natchez; wife, Paula Gunnell Tidwell of Fort Worth, Texas; one son, Luke Tidwell and wife, Mary, both of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Carey Emmich and husband, Robert, both of Madison, and Kelly Long of Clinton; four nieces, Brook and Sarah Emmich, Olivia Long and Emilie Taylor; one nephew, Jesse Guidry; two aunts, Ethel B. Curtis of Utica and Frances Darbonne of Opelousas, La.; one sister-in-law, Jill Gunnell; and a number of close cousins.
