After 40 days of training, Silverado has begun the extreme transformation from wild mustang to mild-mannered horse.
David Carter has 100 days to change wild into mild. Carter is one of 200 participants in the Extreme Mustang Makeover competition.
Carter has been given a wild mustang from the Federal Bureau of Land Management to tame and teach for a competition in Fort Worth, Texas, on the weekend of Sept. 18.

During the competition, his horse will be judged in three separate contests, from body make up and health to a riding contest where the horse responds to commands,
If Carter and his horse Silverado make it to the final round of 15 horses, Carter will have to show off all the horse can do in a freestyle competition. Click on the audio show at left to hear Carter talk about his first couple of days trying to tame the horse.
