BATON ROUGE – Services for the Rev. Eldridge Hunter Jr., 73, who died Tuesday, June 25, 2008, at Ochsner Medical Clinic, in Baton Rouge, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 2919 Sixth St., Baton Rouge, with Dr. Uyless D. Landry Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Hunter Cemetery, in Woodville, under the direction of Littlejohn Funeral Home in New Orleans.
Rev. Hunter was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and seven sisters.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Sandra T. Hunter; his children, August, Robert and wife, Kellie, Jason, Dwayne and Dynell Hunter, Akein and wife, Nakia, Spots, Desiree, Fabiola, Delreece and Keoka Hunter, and the late Eldridge Hunter III, and Dale Murphy Jr.; two goddaughters, Kathie Clark and Shelia Davis and husband, Clarence; three sisters, Precious Clark, Lavenia Eugene and Evelyn Armant; and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of The Way Christian Church, True Gospel of Jesus Christ Church Ministries, First Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Gethsemane Temple Church of God in Christ, New Hope Baptist Church, New Home Ministries, and Trumpet In Zion Church, employees of Ochsner Medical Center of Baton Rouge and Ochsner Foundation, Blitch/Knevel Architect, Gethsemane Prison Ministry, Wilkerson County Correctional Facility and members of the Longshoremen’s Association are invited to attend the services.
