NATCHEZ — Tuesday at 5:04 p.m., a State Trooper car driven by Charles E. Wilson was involved in an accident with a 2000 Chevy Impala driven by Lauvell Whirl at the intersection of State Street and Arlington Street.
Wilson was heading north on State Street while Whirl was going west on Arlington Street, when Whirl hit Wilson on the driver’s side.
“According to the video you can see Trooper Wilson stopped at the stop sign,” Sgt. Randy Boyd said. “It’ll be up to the investigators to figure out if there was fault on one side or the other.
There were no injuries from the accident but the cars both received major damage and Whirl’s was towed away, Boyd said.
“Anything over $500 is considered major damage and that doesn’t take much,” he said.
