Isaac Jackson

NATCHEZ – Services for Isaac “Ike” Jacob Jackson, who died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Saturday at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Jackson was born May 8, 1929, in Adams County, the son of Arthur and Florence Ellery Jackson. He was baptized at an early age. He lived on West Stiers Lane for many years with his beloved companion, Dorothy, and with Harry Fleming.
He was employed the Natchez county barn for many years until his retirement four years ago. He was known for playing pool and raising a garden, of which, he shared his harvest with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved companion, Dorothy Fleming; seven brothers, Little Arthur, Willie Applewhite, Joseph, Audley, Peter Williams, David and Earl Jackson; six sisters, Leola Milner, Martha Williams, Margurite, Dorothy, Lucille and Florence Jackson Stewart; two sisters-in-law, Rosie Lee McGowan, of Natchez, and Deverly Jackson of Avondale, La.; two devoted nephews, Tony Jackson and Gershom “Josh” Stewart of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
