Columbus Todd

NATCHEZ – Services for Columbus “C.B.” Todd, 79, of Natchez who died Friday, July 11, 2008, after a lengthy illness, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. James Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Columbus was born Nov. 16,1928, in Pontotoc, the son of Robert Bertrum and Vera Dale Spears Todd. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church and was owner and operator of Todd Logging Company. He served in the Army Air Force from 1947 to 1950.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Robert Todd and Joseph Partridge Jr.; one daughter, Cathy Burkley; one brother, Howard Todd; and two infant sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Hitchcock Todd; one son, Larry Dale Todd of Natchez; three daughters, Cheryl Frasier and husband, Jimmy, both of Church Hill; Velma Sullivan and husband, Chip, both of Brookhaven; Lynn Caldwell and husband, Wayne, both of Natchez; one daughter-in-law, Annie Todd of Vidalia; one son-in-law, Rodney Burkley of Church Hill; 17 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Williams of Pontotoc; a special loving pet, Sassy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
