WOODVILLE – Services for Ozenne Bezetha Cage Stutzman “Maw Maw”, 89, who died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Field Memorial Hospital in Centreville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Woodville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Van Moore and Father Pat Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Newman Funeral Home of Centreville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Stutzman was born May 23, 1919, the daughter of Nolan Stewart Cage and Aulene Brown Cage.
She was a retired country store owner and she married Herbert L. Stutzman Sr., Aug. 8, 1936, through this marriage five children were born. She was a member of Woodville United Methodist Church, Woodville United Methodist Women and the last charter member of Fort Adams Womens Club. Her joys in life were her church, grandchildren, cooking, flowers, rides in the country, making an afghan for each child, grandchild, great-grandchild and great-great-grandchild and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Stutzman was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Nolan Stutzman; one grandson, John Stutzman; five sisters, Adrienne Moreland, Sylvia Shafer, Virigina Woods, Willie Smith and Gertrude Wheeler; two brothers, Stewart Cage and Earl Cage; and stepmother, Thomasa Cage McKey.
Survivors include three daughters, Aulene Flaccomio of Woodville, Judy Phillips and husband, Charles B., both of Salem, Va., and Frances Fairchild and husband, William, both of Lottie, La.; one son, H.L. Stutzman and wife, Hilda, both of Huntsville, Ala.; 18 grandchildren, Kitty Stutzman Pittman, Julie Flaccomio Fletcher, Gregory Phillips, Karen Stutzman, Michele Cavin Genusa, Emily Flaccomio, Dr. Stephen Phillips, Connie Stutzman Garig, Allison Flaccomio Melancon, Ryker Cavin, Christie Stutzman Landry, Shey Cavin, Erika Stutzman Marina, Kelsey Stutzman, Barrett Stutzman, Dustin Fairchild, Ramona Fairchild Underwood and Brogan Fairchild; 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ryker Cavin, Shey Cavin, Gregory Phillips, Dr. Stephen Phillips, Barrett Stutzman, Brogan Fairchild, Dustin Fairchild, Mac Fletcher and Douglas Melancon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Genusa, Jordan Talbot, Pat Cavin, Johnny Turner, Ron DeYoung, Joe Moreland Jr., John Underwood, Jason Marina, Marcus Williams, Dr. Robert Lewis and Dr. Jennings Owens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Woodville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1956, Woodville, MS 39669 or American Heart Association or any charity of choice.
The family would like to thank those who have provided tender loving care, Dr. Robert Lewis, the staff at Field Memorial Hospital and Edna Jackson, who has been her loyal caretaker for the past eight years. A very special thanks to fellow church members who brought her to and from church when she was no longer able to bring herself.
