NATCHEZ – Services for Charles Edward “Tunnie” Blanton, 61, of Natchez, who died Friday, July 11, 2008, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Blanton was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Natchez, the son of Frank Blanton and Celia Haywood Blanton. He was a former oil field worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include five sisters, Celia Banks, Claudia Jones, Arnett Barnes, Alberta Hargraves and husband, the Rev. Jim Hargraves, and Ruthie Tucker and husband, Archie, all of Natchez; six brothers, Ronald Blanton and wife, Janice, Richard Blanton, Woodrow Blanton, Marvin Blanton and wife, Hannah, and Floyd Blanton, all of Natchez, and Roosevelt Blanton and wife, Lena, both of New Orleans; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
