Ambassadors are stewards to city

The old adage, “Life is like riding a bicycle, you don’t fall off unless you stop pedaling, “holds true for our retiree group known as Ambassadors, who are members of the Natchez Chamber of Commerce.
Presently there are 20 members of the Ambassadors, but if you are retired, and aren’t ready to stop pedaling, you should consider joining our group. Our next meeting is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Country Inn & Suites, Breakfast Room. Please call the Chamber at 601-445-4611 or Dickey King at 601-446-9602 if you need more information.
There are a plethora of reasons for becoming an Ambassador and some of those are as follows:
1. Be an active arm of the chamber as we help facilitate partnerships with business owners, civic organizations, historical foundations and city and county government to improve and enhance the image of our city.
2. Participate in ribbon cuttings, grand openings and grand re-openings of all businesses that become a permanent fixture in our city.
3. Submit suggestions, ideas and offer the physical support needed to help our city enjoy a more vibrant economy.
4. Work together with all participants in the preservation of the historical beauty of our city, all necessary aspects of the national and international promotion of the city, and the perseverance needed to make Natchez a key tourist destination.
Tourism has a significant impact on the economy of our city and we should capitalize on it. Three of the many criteria for quality tourism are friendliness, attractiveness and interesting activities for the entire family.
Our friendliness is almost a slam dunk, but we need to improve on attractiveness and more activities for our tourist to enjoy.
As city Ambassadors we believe Natchez is on the threshold of becoming a great city for tourism, so we invite all retirees to join with us on at 10 a.m. Tuesday as we show our support and involvement in making this vision of greatness become a reality.
