BOGUE CHITTO — Services for Carlos Radell Whitley, 42, who died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in Bogue Chitto, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at New Morning Star Baptist Church, in Ferriday.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Collins’s Temple Church of God in Christ, 2420 Lee Drive, in Bogue Chitto and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at New Morning Star Baptist Church.
On the day of services there will be a visitation from 9 a.m. until services begin at the church.
Mr. Whitley was born Nov. 30, 1965, the son of Willie Morris Whitley and Verna Whitley-Batiste.
He was a graduate of Ferriday High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University where he received a B.A. in Criminal Justice. Whitley worked for his family’s logging company.
He was preceded in death by father, Willie Whitley; brother, Carlton R. Whitley; maternal grandparents, the Rev. Cornelius Ross and Alice Wade; and paternal grandparents Sandy Whitley Sr. and Dorothy Whitley.
Survivors include wife, Dorothy Heckard Whitley; four daughters, Cheterrica Whitley, Caitlyn Whitley, Kaylin Heckard and Ka Sheya Heckard; mother Verna Whitley-Batiste; father an mother-in-law, Joy and Debbie Ferguson; three sisters, two bothers, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other friends and relative.
