NATCHEZ — You may be sleeping in your goldmine.

Or maybe each snooze is costing you dollars.

One way or the other HGTV’s “My house is worth what?” wants to help you know the truth.

The television show is looking for homeowners and real estate agents in Natchez willing to participate in an upcoming episode.

A Natchez Realtor selected by the show would tour a local house with the homeowner, offering opinions on the house’s value, Producer Holly Schwartz said.

Homeowners interested in participating must have a house that was recently remodeled, updated or restored. The producers have a special interest in antebellum properties, Schwartz said.

Homeowners should also be energetic and personable.

Residents interested in appearing on the show can apply on the Internet at pietown.tv/Shows/mhiww.html before Aug. 22. Realtors interested in participating can apply on the same site.

Filming will be in November, and participants must be able to devote an entire day to the process, Schwartz said.

“We have selected a number of cities across the country, but the network executive is very interested in featuring Natchez because of the charm of the community,” Schwartz said.

“My house is worth what?” started airing on HGTV in 2006. Schwartz said they have not shot a show in Mississippi.

The show airs at various times throughout the week, but new episodes air at 6 p.m. on Sunday nights.
