Charles Eidt

NATCHEZ – On July 30, 2008, at the age of 95 years, Charles F. Eidt, was taken up into the presence of our Lord Jesus, by His holy angels. He was a resident of Wynhaven Nursing Home in New Orleans.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Vidalia.
Burial will be at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., with a rosary service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Mr. Eidt was born Nov. 30, 1912, in Natchez, the son of Samuel G. and Mary Graf Eidt. Mr. Eidt was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Parish. He owned and operated Eidt’s Service Station as well as Eidt’s Wrecker Service and Body Shop for many years. Mr. Eidt also served as a city alderman.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth Rymer Eidt; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann; one sister, Mary Edna Eidt; and four brothers, Jacob Eidt, Samuel Eidt, Andrew Eidt, and James Eidt.
Mr. Eidt was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jane Eidt Wadlington, of Vidalia, and Charlene Eidt Vernotzy of New Orleans; six grandchildren, Kevin Wadlington and wife, Jennifer, Jeff Wadlington and wife, LaNan, all of Vidalia, Richard Vernotzy and wife, Ellen, of Houston, Douglas Vernotzy, Pam Kamphuis and Elizabeth Poole, all of New Orleans; and16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Wadlington, Cory Wadlington, Jeff Wadlington, Taylor Wadlington, Richard Vernotzy, and Douglas Vernotzy.
