SICILY ISLAND – Services for Lucille Brooks, 88, of Sicily Island, who died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Promise Specialty Hospital, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. today at Pilgrim Baptist Church, in Sicily Island, with Pastor Elijah J. James officiating.
Burial will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Brooks was born March 18, 1920, in Jena, La., the daughter of Andrew and Bessie Taylor Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Columbus Brooks Sr.
Survivors include one son, Columbus Brooks Jr. and wife, Mandy, both of Sicily Island; one daughter, Viola James of Harrisonburg; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
