NATCHEZ — Those with an interest in recycling will have an opportunity to have their voices heard at the first meeting of the county’s recycling committee on Monday evening.

Committee member Mike Lazarus said anyone with a desire to see a recycling program in Natchez should attend.

“We’re going to sit down and get organized,” he said.

Lazarus said various recycling options will be discussed and committee appointments will be made.

Ideally the committee will be comprised of officials from the county and the city, as well as members of the public Lazarus said.

The committee was formed on Monday after the Adams County Board of Supervisors met with members from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality to discuss recycling options in the community.

That meeting revealed a great show of public support for a recycling program.

“This is going to take all of us working together,” Lazarus said.

Monday’s meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. at the supervisors’ building.

“Anyone who can help is invited,” Lazarus said.
