CLINTON (AP) — Clinton police have caught a teen wanted in connection with the shooting of his mother.

Clinton police Chief Don Byington says Ellen Lou Digenarro of Clinton’s Oakhurst subdivision was shot in the face Wednesday afternoon with a .380-caliber pistol. Byington says she called 911 and told authorities her son had shot her.

Nineteen-year-old Salvatore “Sal” Digennaro was apprehended between 6 and 6:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Metrocenter mall in Jackson. Byington said a family member gave police information leading to Sal Digennaro’s arrest.
