FERRIDAY – Services for James Graham McNeely, 57, of Monterey, who died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home, in Ferriday, with Walter Ray Magee officiating.
Burial will follow at Lismore Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. McNeely was born Aug. 3, 1951, in Natchez, the son of James Fount McNeely and Ivy Marie Graham McNeely. He was a 1970 graduate of Monterey High School and attended diesel mechanic school in Houma, La. He was employed by Ferriday Farm Equipment for 20 years. Afterward, he was the owner and operator of Monterey Farm Equipment Repair. Since 2000, he was a millwright of OSI Woodgroup and was a permanent employee of Sulzter Hickman Industries, of Houston, Texas, at the time of his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Edith McNeely Echols.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Carol Evans McNeely of Lismore, La.; two sons, James Lucan McNeely and Heath Eric McNeely, both of Lismore; two grandchildren, Grace Ashur McNeely and Gavin Augusts McNeely; one sister, Crystal McNeely Lisemby and husband, Reginald, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one aunt, Lavern Moore and husband, Edgar, both of Ferriday; one great-uncle, Kyler McNeely of Ferriday; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lanny Lipsey, Jimmy Ellard, Mark Moore, Yankee Duncan, Walter Duncan, Kelly Gene Evans, Buddy Ellard and Ray Routon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kyler McNeely, Sidney Wiley, Edgar Moore Jr., and Morris Miller Willson.
