WAYNESBORO — One Natchez-area team will continue on while another’s run is over in the state tournament.
Adams County Christian School was eliminated in two games at the MPSA South State Tournament at Wayne Academy on Wednesday. They lost their first game, 10-0, to Amite School Center before dropping a heartbreaker to Columbia Academy, 7-6, in extra innings.
But Wilkinson County Christian Academy will move onto the semifinals on Saturday after defeating Benton Academy and Silver Bay.
The Rams knocked both teams off with scores of 7-2, bringing their record to 19-7.
Bethany Fletcher was the winning pitcher in both games, as WCCA out-hit its opponents 17-7 on the day.
They will play their first game Saturday at 11:15 a.m. against a yet-to-be determined team.
