PINEVILLE, LA. — The Huntington Hounds ran all over CENLA Christian Friday night, winning 51-8.
Running back Jeremy Randall rushed for 323 of Huntington’s 481 total yards and scored 38 of their 51 points. He also averaged 21.5 yards per carry, thanks in large part to several big touchdown runs, the biggest of 81 yards.
Huntington started the slaughter of the CENLA Rams early, when Randall took the ball 23 yards for the first of his six touchdowns. Kevin Brown completed the 2-point conversion.
Randall scored twice in second quarter.
He had a 48-yard run and the two-point conversion as well and a 3-yard run.
CENLA completed a 41-yard touchdown pass and subsequent 2-point conversion with 8:23 left in the half to get on the board, but would not see the end zone again during all night.
Randall added 14 points in the third quarter. A 61-yard run with 10:39 left and a 41- yard run with 6:08 left put the Hounds up 38 to 8.
Randall got his biggest run of the night on an 81-yard score with 11:45 left in the fourth quarter, but he was not the only threat the Hounds had on the ground. Andreas Swanson ran in a 68-yard touchdown with 4:30 left in the game and Josh Lee hammered in the extra point to seal the win.
Even though the Hounds dominated the night, their passing game struggled.
They only threw two passes all night, one of which was intercepted. The other was incomplete.
Huntington is 3-2 and will face Franklin Academy next week.
