NATCHEZ — Beginning Day Social for Xi Alpha Phi Sorority was at the home of Linda Cox, chapter president, on Aug. 24.

Cox announced plans and programs for upcoming meetings, socials and convention plans.

Vice president, Beth Webb, was honored as the new Ms Xi Alpha Phi. Last year’s recipient of the award, Shirley Wilson, presented Webb with a certificate and an engraved silver pendant.

Webb is now serving the chapter as vice president and previously served on all committees and offices of the chapter.

Following a seated dinner, chapter member and state convention co-chairperson, Cathy Roboski led a discussion on available local convention facilities, state service project and other business connected with the state sorority convention which will be June 12-14, 2009 in Natchez.

The theme for the convention will be “Relaxin’ on the River.”

The next regular meeting will be Sept. 25.
