JONESVILLE, La. – Services for Jerry Layne Glass, 57, of Jonesville, who died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church, on Short Street in Jonesville, with Pastor David Carlton officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Rinehart, La., under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena, La.
Mr. Glass was born Aug. 12, 1951, in Lafayette, La., the son of Thomas and Verdie Glass of Vidalia.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was self-employed as owner of Soft Touch Carpet Cleaning.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gary Wayne Glass.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Glass; four daughters, Delta Ray, Amber Glass, Christal McGlothin and husband, Cliff, and Shelena Davis and husband, Jack; one brother, Michael Glass and wife, Jackie, both of Redfield, Ark.; three sisters-in-law, Mona Henderson, Donniece Ford and Beverly Glass; three brothers-in-law, Louis Wayne Sharp, Shelby Sharp and Charlie Sharo; eight grandchildren, Caitlin Glass, Lauren Edwards, Alden Cupit, Chloe McGlothin, Burton Ray, Brena Dee Ray, Jack Layton Davis and Leah Davis; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Craig Edwards, Louis Sharp, Chris Groh, Ricky Kennedy and Bruce Henry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Butcher and Johnny Ray O’Steen.
