NATCHEZ – Services for Marie Dunn Wells, 85, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Magnolia House, will be at 3 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Dr. Doug Broome officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wells was born Nov. 12, 1922, the daughter of Willard and Corean Stilley Dunn. She was a member of First Baptist Church, in Natchez, Rebekah Sunday School Class, the International Paper Company Quarter Century Club and the Pilgrimage Garden Club. She loved to travel, play bridge and enjoyed good food.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Verdie O. Wells.
Survivors include one brother, Willard Dunn and wife, Marjorie; one niece, Kathy Rose, all of Dayton, Ohio; one nephew, Robert Dunn of California; one great-nephew, Charlie Rose of Dayton; long time friends she considered as family, Albert and Barbara Duck, both of Natchez, and Alisa D. House of Destrehan, La.; long time employee, McArthur Mason; loving caregiver, Mary Ann Sewell; and the staff of Magnolia House.
Memorials may be made First Baptist Church Love Fund in Natchez.
