NATCHEZ – Services for Sufronia G. “Honey Ma” Selmon, 76, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Linwood Baptist Church with the Rev. D.W. Howard officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Selmon was born June 18, 1932, in Adams County, the daughter of John Griffin and Anna Henry Griffin. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Sylvester Shelby; and one cousin, Robert Charles Pratt.
Survivors include her husband, Cornelius “Pot” Selmon Sr.; 11 children, Cornelius Selmon Jr., Mattie Malone and husband, Donald, and Patricia Selmon, all of Fayette, Freddie Selmon and wife, Gwen, both of New Orleans, John Selmon, Clara Foster and husband, Henry Lee, and Mary Selmon, all of Natchez, Bernard Selmon and wife, Ernestine, both of Roxie, Martha Simpson Body and husband, Gregory, both of Terry, Robert Selmon Sr. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Wendell Selmon Selmon of Stampley; 35 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three special cousins, Mary Ford of Natchez, Bessie Chesley of Phoenix and Parker Pratt of Monroe, La.; one sister-in-law, Alma Selmon White of Las Vegas; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
