VIDALIA – Services for Leotha Payne Williams, 76, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Stephen Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial will follow at Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 30, 1932, in Vidalia, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel Brown Payne. She was retired from Concordia Parish Headstart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Williams Sr.; two sons, Barry and Lonnie Williams; and one sister, Victoria Lewis.
Survivors include two sons, Clifford Payne Sr., of Vidalia, and George Williams Jr. and wife, Jackie, both of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Rhonda Coleman and husband, James, both of Natchez, Myra Williams and Janice Williams Kennedy and husband, James, all of Vidalia; two brothers, Kevin Payne Sr. and wife, Debra, and Otis Payne and wife, Toya, all of Chicago; four sisters, Selwyn Payne and husband, Andre, Toni Payne, Earline Lee and husband, Richard, all of Chicago, and Carolyn Jamison of Atlanta; two sisters-in-law, Addie Lewis, of Jena, La., and Gertrude Cooper of California; one brother-in-law, James Lewis of Natchez; one aunt, Mamie Lyon of Vidalia; stepmother, Jensey Tyler and husband, Earl, of Chicago; 20 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
