JONESVILLE, La. – Services for Vera Lee McEntyre, 81, of Jonesville, who died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at LaSalle General Hospital, in Jena, La., will be at 1 p.m. today at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church with the Rev. James Stone and Pastor Joel Ford officiating.
Burial will follow at Heard Cemetery, in Manifest, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. McEntyre was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Harrisonburg, La., the daughter of Frank Perogoy and Mamie Perogoy Duck. She was a member of the Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Dock Duck; and husband, Arthur Ray McEntyre.
Survivors include three sons, Vandale McEntyre and wife, Laverie, both of Vidalia, the Rev. Garry Wayne McEntyre and wife, the Rev. Fay McEntyre, both of Baker, La., and Kenneth Ray McEntyre and wife, Jana, both of Manifest, La.; two daughters, Nilda Robinette and husband, Richard, both of Many, La., and Judy Stone and husband, the Rev. James Stone, both of Sandy Lake; one brother, Albert Duck Jr. of Natchez; two sisters, Jimmie Faye Campbell of Ferriday and Sammie Germany of Natchez; three special nieces, Dorothy Dickey and Annie Bell Spears, both of West Monroe, La., and Audrey Mae of Arkansas; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved.
She will be greatly missed by her family, her church family and a number of friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Stanley, Greg and Jason Stone, Dewayne Boothe, Chad Otwell, Darin, Ray, Troy, Kris and Kevin McEntyre and great-grandson, Lance Bunch and Kenny Delaughter.
