NATCHEZ – Services for James “Phil” Kirby, 53, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pearson officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Kirby was born on Aug. 10, 1955, in Sunflower County, the son of Jim Cohen Kirby and Zettie Mae Phillips Kirby. He was a Baptist and was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Kirby; one niece, Amber Kirby of Vidalia; mother-in-law, Margie Phillips of Louin; a number of sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Carl Passman, Dr. Berry Tillman, Dr. Geoffrey Flattmann and Dr. John O’Brien.
