Natchez — Noted Mississippi author, educator and speaker, Kathy Chase Young will be at Cover to Cover Books in Natchez to personalize her new children’s book, “In a Mississippi Winter,”from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Following her 2005 release of “The Gift,” Young turns her literary attention from the southern kitchen to the southern classroom.

“That doesn’t look anything like wintertime where I live,” thinks a clever child in Miss Bonnie’s fictional class.

“In a Mississippi Winter,” the children are confused as their teacher shares pictures of winter, complete with snowmen, ice skates and sleds.

“In a Mississippi Winter” also includes fun winter activity suggestions specially designed for home or the classroom.
