Reading winners celebrate with party

WOODVILLE — The accelerated reading first period goal getters had a party on Wednesday Oct. 15. The following students attended Slade Foil, second grade; Samuel Jones and Anna Claire Ryan, third grade; Christian Burleigh, Cole Gardner, Chelsea Netterville, Mary Smith Overby, Shawn Perry, Charles Thomas Smith and Katie Snell, fourth grade; Katelynn Bell, Phillip Cutrer, Austin Hendry, Mallory Lees, Sam Nicholas, Jamie Lewis, Thomas Perry, Shelby Roberts, Makenzie Tarver, and Bennett Walker, fifth grade; Mary Kathryn Doucet, Amadens Jones, Silas Whitaker and Kirsi Ferguson, sixth grade.

Plans are under way for the 2008 fall festival to be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday October 28. You can purchase a raffle ticket from a WCCA student. Fun and food for all ages will be provided.

On Thursday, Oct. 9, the first second and third grades attended Jefferson College Pioneer Days. One of the highlights of their trip was Indian story telling by Grayhump. They saw how pottery was made and were able to answer many of the presenter’s questions.
