NATCHEZ — Grab your plastic pumpkins and pillowcases.
Starting at 5:30 on Halloween night, children of the Miss-Lou can traipse the downtown streets in search of candy, handed out by downtown merchants dressed in costume.
The Halloween Little Feet Trick or Treat event hosted by the Natchez Downtown Development Association not only gives an avenue for children to be ripe with Halloween spirit but merchants, as well.
NDDA Director Carrie Lambert said downtown stores have been participating in the window decorating contest and some have really gotten into it.
“Some are so excited about theirs that they want to have decorations spilling out on the sidewalk,” she said.
The winner of the competition will be announced that evening and will be given a decorative wreath to hang on the door to signify the win.
Lambert said the event will last until 7 p.m. and the streets are Main and Franklin streets to the corners of Wall and Union streets.
Pearl and Commerce streets are included in the layout, also.
All streets will be blocked until 7 p.m.
