Suicide prevention walk set for Saturday

NATCHEZ — The “Out of the Darkness” Community Walk for Suicide Prevention to raise funds for research is at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The approximately one-mile walk will be at Duncan Park, and registration will be at the back baseball field at 9 a.m.
Organizer Erin Sessions said approximately 175 people have signed up for the walk.

Not only does the walk have the purpose of raising funds for suicide prevention, but it will also raise awareness to remove the stigma of depression, she said.
Sessions said raising awareness could also lead to building a support and survivor group in the area, a goal she would eventually like to accomplish.
Prizes will be given for the different amounts of money raised for the cause.
