NATCHEZ — Mary Hood has been named the city editor of The Natchez Democrat.

Hood has been working as a reporter for the newspaper since January, and will continue her coverage of the City of Natchez in addition to other duties.

“Mary has been a key player on our team for some time, and we are excited to have her take on additional responsibilities that will help the newspaper better serve our readers,” Managing Editor Julie Cooper said.

Hood is a native of Fair Hope, Ala., and a 2007 graduate of Auburn University.
