Ilene Swayze

JONESVILLE — Services for Ilene B. Swayze, 85, of Jonesville, who died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Columns Nursing Home in Jonesville, will be at 11 a.m. today at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Brother Lloyd Trisler officiating.

Burial will follow at Jena Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Mrs. Swayze was born July 18, 1923, in Nampa, Ind., the daughter of Oscar and Laura Winchester Brunzell. She was the owner of Swayze Grocery Store in Jonesville and was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Swayze Sr.; her parents; two daughters, Bobbie Sue Corley and infant Sherry Lee Swayze; seven brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Swayze Jr. and wife, Susie, both of Jonesville, and Ronnie Swayze and wife, Pam, both of Harrisonburg; one son-in-law, Lewis Corley of Jena; two grandsons, Robert Lee Swayze III and A.J. Swayze; five granddaughters, Sherry Smith, Jo Ellen Toler, Becky Swayze, Katie Swayze and Molly Swayze; one great-grandson, Jeddy Hamilton; and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Hamilton.

Pallbearers will be Curt Freeman, Raymond Nicholson, David McMillin, Mike Taylor, Mark Taylor, Glen Tiser, Stephen Nolker and Jason Tiser.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Swayze, Maxie Swayze, Frank Swayze, Willie Lazarus, Larry Foster, Buddy Swayze, Curtis Freeman, Lewis Corley, David Ryan and Ed Taylor.
