NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A Poplarville, Miss., man has been arrested and accused of sending racist electronic death threats to three students at Louisiana’s Nicholls State University by way of their Facebook accounts.
The FBI in New Orleans said Friday that 19-year-old Dyron Hart was arrested Thursday on a criminal complaint accusing him of sending the messages, which contained racial epithets and death threats, to three black women at Nicholls, located in Thibodaux, La. The writer of the message cast himself as a white man who intended to kill blacks because of the election of Barack Obama as president.
An FBI agent’s affidavit on the case says that Hart, who is black, told the agent that he sent the messages to “get a reaction.”
