Music lovers should take note. Guitarist Jack Sanders will perform at Concordia Bank & Trust Co. in Vidalia at 7 p.m. Nov. 20.
A concert by an artist of Jack Sanders’ caliber that is open to the public and free of charge is an opportunity that no music lover should pass up.
The event is being sponsored by Concordia Parish Library, through the Piatigorsky Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to artistic excellence and public outreach.
Amanda Taylor, librarian of the Concordia Parish Libraries has, again, done an excellent job in providing local access to classical music.
The rotunda of the beautiful Concordia Bank & Trust building, where acoustics are excellent, is the perfect venue.
Praised as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher, Jack Sanders’ performances have included Kapalua Music Festival of Hawaii, Arrowhead Bach Festival, Guitar Foundation of America Festivals, radio broadcast, and solo performances with numerous orchestras.
He has been featured with string quartets and duos and a trio with an oboist and flutist.
He has made several recordings released by Town Hall Records, Centaur Records and Crystal Records.
He writes “Essays on Playing the Guitar” featured in Soundboard, the quarterly journal of the Guitar Foundation of America. He is on the faculty of Pomona College and has been a guest faculty member at California Institute of the Arts. He is also a luthier—one who actually constructs stringed instruments.
I am looking forward to this event and hope to see you there on Nov. 20.
