Woodville — On Nov. 6, WCCA had its annual College Day. The schools represented were Blue Mountain College, Co-Lin Natchez, Millsap’s College, Mississippi College, Mississippi State University, University of Southern Mississippi, Southwest Community College, University of Mississippi, Louisiana College and Louisiana Tech University. The Marines, National Guard and the Army also attended. This activity always proves to be very helpful to the students.

Also, on Nov. 6, Timi Polan accompanied Ron Polan, Garrett Wilkerson, Taylor Vines, and Samantha Pace to the annual Quiz Bowl Competition at Mississippi College. The school is always proud of the students who participate in this academic competition.

Slade Foil wrote about the variety of nature around the river.

“The Mississippi River has lots to discover, like water snakes, frogs, alligators and black runners. Some of the trees include Magnolias and there are many birds, like the red wing black bird. One of the many wildlife animals found by the river are beavers. The Mississippi River is one of the world’s greatest commercial waterways. The Mississippi River connects to the Red River, Arkansas River, Ohio River, Missouri River and then circles around in Minnesota. When it goes south it heads to the ocean,” she wrote.
