NATCHEZ — As a gift to the people of Natchez, each year Natchez National Historical Park conducts a free evening Christmas program titled, “Christmas at Melrose,” offering visitors a rare night glimpse of the estate grounds and the inside of the house.
As part of the program, Natchez NHP will offer children’s games, crafts for adults and children, music, and refreshments. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday night, Dec. 12-13.
The park is currently looking for those interested in assisting with serving refreshments, children’s crafts or games. All volunteers will receive a coupon for a complimentary house tour of Melrose. The coupon is good for a year and will cover up to two people.
Those interested in volunteering should call Jennifer Clemetson or Melissa Tynes at 601-446-5790 by Monday, Dec. 8. For more information about Natchez National Historical Park please visit www.nps.gov/natc.
