NATCHEZ — Police are still searching for the woman suspected in a Wednesday night murder.
Jessie Mae Tolbert, 32, 25 Pintard St., is wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of Akeem Furley, 24. The stabbing occurred on Government Fleet Road, and Tolbert was last seen walking into the woods near Providence Road.
Furley was stabbed once in the chest near his neck, and after two people transported him to Natchez Regional Medical Center, he was pronounced dead.
Furley and Tolbert reportedly had a romantic relationship, and the stabbing was likely related to domestic violence, Police Chief Mike Mullins said.
The stabbing reportedly happened in the presence of the two people who took Furley to the hospital, and police are taking statements from them, Mullins said.
