Sit back, listen and say thanks

For almost each of us, our world moves at lightning speed. Stopping to smell the enchanting scent of a rose or to listen to a piece of beautiful music just takes too much time. We’re all too busy for much of that.
What’s worse, in our rush, rush, rush lives we often forget to simply say “thank you” to those around us who mean so much to us.
We’re almost all guilty of it, at least sometimes.
Fortunately on Friday evening, Natchez will get a chance to say “thanks” to a man who has dedicated much of his life to making others feel better — either by curing their illness or goading them to slow down, relax a little and listen to some beautiful music.
Friday evening, a special “This is Your Life” event will take place to honor Dr. Donald Killelea and to raise money for one of his favorite obsessions — music.
For nearly 20 years, Killelea has volunteered and helped lead what is now the Natchez Music Festival.
On Friday, the festival will give a bit of stage time to Killelea’s life with a special concert performed by several Natchez Festival of Music stars.
Tickets may be purchased at Natchez Pilgrimage Tours and we cannot think of a better way to spend an evening than to slow down, relax a bit, have a great meal and enjoy some beautiful music.
It’s a prescription for an enjoyable time.
