Royce Sesser

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Services for Royce Scott Sesser, 60, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., who died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at DCH Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. today at Annunciation Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Robert Dore officiating.
Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Sesser was born Aug. 31, 1948, in Malvern, Ark., the son of Jewell Leo and Juanita Scott Sesser. He was a communicant of The Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tuscaloosa. He attended Woodville Attendance Center and Emory University in Atlanta. He began his automobile career in the early 1970s in Natchez and moved to Columbus in 1979 to purchase Columbus Datsun; then in the early 80s he purchased Davis Chevrolet. Royce was also a U.S. Marine veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a Rotarian and a Paul Harris recipient.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jewell L. Sesser Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle Manning Sesser of Northport, Ala.; five sons, Ryan Scott Sesser of Eupora, Andrews Brandon Sesser and wife, Amy, both of Maben, William Brent Sesser of Barksdale AFB in Bosier Citry, La. and Rider Manning Sesser of Northport and Scott McRevy of Gulfport; three daughters, Kathryn Clare “Kacy” Sesser of Chicago, Harli Malone Sesser of Northport and Sarah Green and husband, Aaron, both of Gulfshores, Ala.; three grandchildren, Daley Scott Sesser, Rain James Sesser and Ariana Green; three brothers, Howard Sesser and Sharron Dick, both of Newton, Iowa, Nolan Sesser and wife, Frances, both of Natchez, and Larry Sesser and wife, Renee, both of Destrehan, La.; one sister, Letha Sumrall and husband, Gerry, both of Natchez; and his first wife, Marilyn Dossett Sesser Bowen of Eupora.
