Rudolph Case

NATCHEZ — Services for Rudolph W. “Rudy” Case, 97, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home in Natchez with the Rev. Jason Cole and the Rev. Wayne Spencer officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Case was a life-long resident of Natchez. He was born on July 17, 1911, in Natchez, the son of Richard William Case and Mary “Mamie” O’Neal Case. He graduated from Natchez High School in 1930. He especially enjoyed participating in team sports during his years there.

He owned and operated Feeders Service Company for many years before retiring. He was a 32-year deacon at Parkway Baptist Church. He was a member of the Rotary Club since 1943 and a member of the Shriners of North America.

For many years he was an avid fisherman, and he loved to attend local high school basketball and football games.

Mr. Case was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Alma, Molly, Lola and Launa; two nephews, Dick Mullins and Rudy Billy Jordan.

Survivors include his wife since July 28, 1934 Pearlie Smith Case; two sons, R. Wayne Case of West Hollywood, Calif., and Audley P. Case and wife Lorna Biron Case of Natchez; one grandson, Biron M. Case of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Audley Case Nugent and her husband Scott Nugent of Natchez; a great-granddaughter, Brianne Nugent of Natchez; a great-grandson, Rudy Nugent of Natchez, a niece, Lola French Jordan Ledet of Louisiana and a nephew, Patrick Biron Jordan of Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be the youth group at Parkway Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers are Ken Whittington, Paxton Dixon, Gerald Smith and Albert Metcalfe.

The family extends special thanks to the staff of The Magnolia House and to friend Albert Metcalfe for their many kindnesses and accommodations.

Memorials can be made to the building fund at Parkway Baptist Church in Natchez or a charity of your choice.
