Melvin Morgan

CHICAGO — Services for Melvin Morgan, 70, of Chicago, who died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, are today in Chicago with the Rev. Lee Graves officiating.
Mr. Morgan was born April 9, 1938, in Fayette, the son of David and Warnetta Morgan. He was a 1958 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. He retired in 1997 from employment with the Chicago Transit. He was Apostolic.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Iregene Green, Rebecca Norton and Murle Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta Morgan; nine children; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six brothers, Sid Morgan, James Morgan and David Morgan, all of Chicago, Fred Morgan of New Orleans, Charles Morgan and Learthur Morgan, both of Fayette; and five sisters, Catherine Felton, Cora Felton and Annie Felton, all of Natchez, Fannie Felton of Fayette, and Worrie Johnson of Baton Rouge.
Fountain Jordan Shepherd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
