Natchez — On Friday and Saturday the Jefferson Street United Methodist youth will be presenting its live nativity scene for the 25th year. The depiction will be from 5:15 until 8 each night.

The tradition began as a gift to the community from the youth in 1983. It has continued each year since, and enhances the Advent and Christmas season for the town.

Youth will don costumes of the day and bring to life that singular event of over two thousand years ago which changed the world.

Shepherds will tend live animals. Kings will visit with their gifts. The angel will appear and of course Mary and Joseph will care for the beloved Christ child.

The scene will be presented on the front lawn of the church allowing viewing from the automobiles passing by. Visitors are also welcome to park and view the scene up close.
