TWENTY YEARS AGO — Ferriday quarterback James M. Davis, who threw for over 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns is named District 2-3A’s Most Valuable Player and joins five of his teammates on the first team.
TEN YEARS AGO — James West scores 19 points while Jamal Bouldin makes six three-pointers to finish with 18 points as Natchez High defeats Ferriday 78-75 in the boys’ finals of the Natchez High Hoops Classic.
FIVE YEARS AGO — Jeremy Washington scores 19 of his 30 points in the second half, including the game-winning jumper with 20 seconds left, as the Block Bears rally in the final 2:33 to defeat the Ferriday Trojans 54-53.
