NATCHEZ — On Friday, the Red Cross was lending a helping hand to one of their own.
A Thursday night fire destroyed the trailer of long-time Red Cross volunteer and board member Don Winters.
Red Cross Chapter Manager Angie Brown said Winters told her he believed it was an electric fire that destroyed his home.
“He only had time to leave with the clothes on his back,” she said.
Donations for Winters can be left at the Red Cross headquarters at 211 North Union St.
