FERRIDAY — Services for Myrtle Ree “Ma” Harris, 82, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, in Ferriday, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Watts officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harris was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Monarch, Ark., the daughter of Hudson and Dessie M. Brown. She was the owner of Myrtle’s Beauty Shop and was retired. She attended Ferriday Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Natchez Moose Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry L. Harris; one son, Lee Edward Harris; and five brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, Gerald Harris of Colfax, La.; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Harris of Vidalia; two sisters, Lucille and Jenny, both of Monroe, La.; four grandchildren, Cathy Stroud and husband, Marty, Ronnie Harris and wife, Buffy, all of Wesson, Jason Harris and wife, Marissa, both of Madison, and Jerry Harris and wife, Lee, both of Hernando; 10 great-grandchildren, Lindsey Ezell, Cory Stroud, Erin Stroud, Joseph Harris, Morgan Harris, Logan Harris, Caleb Harris, Tobin Harris, Hudson Harris and Luke Harris; two great-great-grandchildren, Madison McNatt and Hayden Ezell; and special friends, Bobbie and R.C. Cavin, Butch Goodman, Annie Mae Cotton and Jean Cater.
Pallbearers will be Jason Harris, Jerry Harris, Ronnie Harris, Marty Stroud, Crawford Harris, Greg Duncan and Gary Duncan.
