Vidalia — Latoya Smith-Davis recently graduated from Texas Southern University with a master’s in counseling education.

The ceremony was, at TSU Health and P.E. Complex.

Smith – Davis received a bachelor’s degree from Southern University in 2002.

She is currently a seventh-grade math teacher at Olle Middle School in Houston, Texas.

She is the wife of Marcus Davis of Fresno, Texas.

Smith -Davis is also the daughter of Linda Warner-Bell and her husband, Melvin of Vidalia and the Rev. Michael Smith and his wife, LuCrecia of Fresno, Texas.

She is the granddaughter of a Eddie and Rosa L. Warner of Vidalia, and Leon and Winnie Smith of Ferriday.

After graduation, Smith-Davis plans to open a placement home for teenage girls.
