TEN YEARS AGO — Centreville head coach Bill Hurst is named The Democrat’s All-Area Coach of the Year and Tigers running back Derek Tate, who had 2,312 yards and 29 TDs, is named the Player of the Year.
FIVE YEARS AGO — Trinity Episcopal will be without senior point guard Gregory Ketchings for the University Christian School Tournament and in his place at that position will be freshman Stevan Ridley.
