VIDALIA — Services for Georgia Fair Smith, 54, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Ferrington officiating.
Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery, in Newellton, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born May 26, 1954, the daughter of George Fair and Beatrice Thompson Fair. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her most enjoyable moments were spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Heith Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Howell Smith; two daughters, Amy Lucas and husband, Jon, both of Jonesville, and Kim Melton and husband, Mack, both of Vidalia; one daughter-in-law, Monica Smith of Vidalia; four granddaughters, Mikayla, Marleigh and Hannah Smith and Destiny Lucas; one grandson, Landon Heith Allen Smith; one brother, Richard Fair of Alabama; two sisters, Debra Book of Harrisonburg, La. and Helen Cagle of Jonesville; and a number of close friends, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mack Melton, Jon Lucas, Bobby Fleming, William Moffit, John Smith and Jamie Smith.
