David Pickett

NATCHEZ — Services for David D. Pickett, 69, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Wednesday at R.D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of R.D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Pickett was born Nov. 30, 1939, the son of Clifton L. Pickett Sr. and Emma Hunt Pickett.

He was a former construction worker, attended Adams County Public School System and was a Baptist.

Mr. Pickett was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifton L. Pickett Jr. and John L. Pickett; four sisters, Margaret Pickett, Vivian P. Williams, Lurdenia P. Davis and Willie Mae P. Hughes.

Survivors include four sisters, Elsie P. Evans, Ruby Mae P. Green, both of Natchez, Ernestine Pickett of Cleveland, Ohio and Joyceria Schoby and husband, Barney, both of Terry; special nephew and caregiver, Lee Edward Scott of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be nephews.
