NATCHEZ — Services for Tyler Scott Thompson, 21, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pearson officiating.

Burial will follow at Jersey Settlers Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Thompson was born April 16, 1987, in Natchez, the son of John Wayne Thompson and Ramoth Rosalie “Ramee” Enlow Thompson.

He was a student at Jones County Junior College and a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He was active in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Darwin S. Enlow Sr. and paternal grandparents, John H. Thompson and Bobbie Jean Thompson.

Survivors include his parents; three brothers, Richard Thompson and wife, Revé, Greg Thompson and wife, Meggie and Jesse Thompson; one nephew, Drew Thompson and his fiancée, Laura Usnik, all of Natchez; maternal grandmother, Ruth McWilliams of Jackson; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Troy Eliser, Steven Simpson, Clifford Simpson Jr., Shawn Rich, John Michael Powell, Ray Simpson Jr. and Patrick Womack.

Memorials may be made to The Hospitality Apartments, 7219 Cecil St., Houston, TX 77030, which provides housing for cancer patients and their families.
